Following the acclaimed return of II in 2024, Kiasmos revisit the album with II Reworked, an expansive reimagining that transforms every composition through the creative vision of a handpicked group of collaborators.
The Icelandic-Faroese duo of Ă“lafur Arnalds and Janus Rasmussen invited five trusted artists to reinterpret the entire album from beginning to end, creating a dreamlike companion piece that explores the emotional depth hidden within the original recordings. Rather than traditional remixes, these are complete reworks that uncover new textures, moods and perspectives.
Contributors include acclaimed composer Alex Somers, experimental electronic duo Rachika Nayar & Nina Keith (Disiniblud), and Icelandic artists Kjartan Holm and Sin Fang. Each approaches the material from a distinct angle, from analogue tape manipulation and detuned pianos to ambient drones, delicate electronics and richly layered sound design, resulting in an immersive journey that feels less like a return to the dancefloor and more like its reflective afterglow.
