Originally released in 2016, the album reimagines Hilltop Hoods' two landmark companion albums — Drinking From The Sun (2012) and Walking Under Stars (2014) — through sweeping orchestral arrangements performed alongside the 32-piece Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the 20-piece Adelaide Chamber Singers. The result is a powerful fusion of hip-hop, classical music and live instrumentation that brings new depth and emotion to some of the group's most celebrated songs.
The 19-track collection transforms fan favourites with cinematic arrangements while retaining the lyrical sharpness, storytelling and energy that have made Hilltop Hoods one of Australia's most successful and influential acts. Upon release, Restrung debuted at #1 on the ARIA Albums Chart and has since achieved Platinum certification in Australia.
Among its highlights is the smash hit 1955 featuring Montaigne and Tom Thum, which reached #2 on the ARIA Singles Chart and placed #4 in triple j's Hottest 100.
